Jibul (Peter Voke) is a bodhisattva teacher in the Kwan Um School of Zen and abbot of The Peak. He is the first person you will meet when you visit The Peak Zen.

He first encountered Zen in the 1970s and started practicing in the Kwan Um School of Zen in 1995, initially under American KUSZ teachers. In 2004 he resigned his academic post and left home, living and practicing Zen full time in Europe, America and Korea with the guidance of the leading Zen masters of the school. Following the instruction of Zen Master Wu Bong, in 2005 and 2006 he completed solo retreats on Kozákov mountain in the Český ráj and at Providence Zen Center, New England.
In 2009 Jibul took the 48 precepts of a bodhisattva teacher before returning to Britain to live. He also took the 16 precepts of a Kwan Um School senior dharma teacher. The Peak Zen group was set up in 2011 from his Zen home near Matlock Bath where he is now permanently resident, available to teach by example and to help visitors, group members and those interested in starting Zen. He is the abbot of The Peak Zen group, the leading senior member of KUSZ GB, and assists the European Kwan Um School of Zen having been a former member and director of the KUSZ European office.
